Our Story
Since 2002, Widening Adult Vital Experiences, Inc (WAVE) has provided opportunities for social activities including our performing chorus, community involvement, dance workshops, and life-skills training activities for adults with developmental disabilities.
WAVE was started by determined parents and community members on a mission to provide meaning opportunities for their adult children with disabilities to learn and grow once they aged out of the school system. They started with a small vocational program teaching employment and daily living skills and social activities. Over the years, our monthly social activities have become a mainstay in the special needs community.
While we have grown over the years in a variety of ways, WAVE's mission has remained steady and focused and that is to provide holistic programs to empower adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities to enhance their quality of life and independence.
Today, we serve the community through our Life Skills Day Program, Music from the Heart Choral Program, two different Dance Workshops, and our monthly socials with more on the horizon.
